Jeffrey Morgenthaler rebuilt a maligned sour with a shot of bourbon for backbone and egg white for texture — almond and citrus, finally taken seriously.
- 1½ ozAmaretto
- ¾ ozBourbon
- 1 ozLemon juice
- ¼ ozSimple syrup
- 1 eachEgg white
Over cubed ice
Dry shake without ice, then shake hard with ice. Strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass. Garnish: Lemon and cherry.
