The New Orleans ancestor of every sour that followed — brandy, curaçao, and maraschino sharpened with lemon, served in a sugar-crusted glass wrapped in a long lemon peel.

  1. 2 ozBrandy
  2. ½ ozOrange curaçao
  3. ¼ ozMaraschino liqueur
  4. ½ ozLemon juice
  5. 1 dashAngostura bitters

Served up

Shake with ice and strain into a sugar-rimmed coupe lined with a long lemon peel. Garnish: Sugar rim and lemon peel.
