Sam Ross's modern cure-all — blended Scotch with honey, ginger, and lemon, finished with a float of smoky Islay that hits the nose first. The drink that launched a thousand riffs.

  1. 2 ozBlended scotch
  2. ¾ ozLemon juice
  3. ½ ozHoney syrup
  4. ¼ ozGinger syrup
  5. ¼ ozIslay single malt scotchFloated on top

Over a big rock

Shake the first four with ice and strain over one large cube. Float the Islay malt over the top. Garnish: Candied ginger.
